1. About MedCompass

MedCompass operates a platform that helps UK students applying to medicine and dentistry organise their applications, track work experience, and prepare for admissions assessments.

In these Terms of Service, references to "we", "us", and "our" mean MedCompass.

By registering for the waitlist or using the platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use MedCompass.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use MedCompass independently. If you are under 16, a parent or guardian must register on your behalf and supervise your use of the platform.

MedCompass is designed for use in the United Kingdom. If you access the platform from outside the UK, you are responsible for compliance with local laws.

3. Pilot programme

MedCompass is currently operating as a private pilot. Access is limited and granted at our discretion. We may change, suspend, or terminate pilot access at any time without notice. Pilot participants may be asked to provide feedback to help improve the platform.

4. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that takes place under your account. Notify us immediately at support@medcompass.uk if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must not share your account with others or use another person's account without their explicit permission.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
• Submit false or misleading information.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its infrastructure.
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation.
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute platform content without our permission.
• Use the platform to harass, defame, or harm others.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create on MedCompass (such as work experience logs, personal statement drafts, and reflections). By submitting content, you grant us a limited licence to store and display it to you as part of the service.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit, including details about your work experience and qualifications.

7. Not professional advice

MedCompass is an organisational tool, not a provider of medical, legal, or admissions advice. Any guidance or suggestions provided by the platform are for informational purposes only. Always consult your school, a qualified admissions adviser, or the relevant university for definitive guidance on your application.

8. Intellectual property

All intellectual property in the MedCompass platform, including its design, code, and content (excluding your own user-generated content), belongs to us or our licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform content without our written permission.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep MedCompass available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the platform at any time. We will provide reasonable notice where practicable, but we are not liable for any loss arising from unavailability.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, MedCompass is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of data, loss of opportunity, or any adverse outcome in your university application.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
